Good afternoon ICES Raven families,

I would like to welcome everyone to the start of week 3!!!! For those of you who may not have received the message on Friday, this is a reminder of the COVID protocol updates we will be implementing starting on Monday, August 8th. With the rise of positive COVID cases in Marion County, we are trying to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

We will be implementing the following changes to our COVID protocols this week:

1. Masks are optional, but are strongly encouraged

2. Social distancing, when possible, during the school day

3. Additional cleaning of common surface areas during the school day

4. School meetings will be held virtually when social distancing is not possible

5. Contact tracing

ICS is requesting that parents continue to monitor their child’s health and check for the following symptoms:

a) Fever of greater than 100.4

b) Sore throat

c) Cough

d) Runny nose/persistent sneezing

e) Complaints of body aches/muscle-joint soreness

If ANY of these symptoms present, please keep your child home and have them tested. Please follow guidance from your physician moving forward from the date of positive test results and communicate with us. We will ensure that academic coursework and supports are provided to students and their families.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue to battle COVID-19. My staff and I are looking forward to an amazing school year with our families, but we want to ensure the safety of our students and staff. • Start time – School starts at 8:00am (student must be in the classroom at that time).

• Breakfast – School will serve option breakfast from 7:30am – 7:45am.

• Dismissal – School is dismissed in waves. Please arrive at the correct time slot, otherwise you will slowdown dismissal….

1. Pre-K will begin dismissal at 2:30pm,
2. Kinder – 2nd grades will begin dismissal at 3:00pm.
3. 3rd-5th grades will begin dismissal at 3:15.

• Visitors – All visitors must first report to the main office. Each visitor will be given a visitor’s pass to indicate they have approval to be in the school building.

• Volunteers – Any visitor who will be volunteering at ICES will be required to complete a background check.

• Water bottles – It is extremely important that your child brings a water bottle to school DAILY. We do have multiple water bottling filling stations on-site to refill their bottles.

• Hora de inicio – la escuela comienza a las 8:00 am (el estudiante debe estar en el salón de clases en ese momento).
• Desayuno – la escuela servirá desayuno opcional de 7:30 a. m. a 7:45 a. m.

• Salida – La escuela se despide en oleadas. Llegue a la hora correcta, de lo contrario retrasará la salida….

1. Pre-K comenzará a despedirse a las 2:30 p. m.,
2. Kinder – 2do grado comenzará la salida a las 3:00 pm.
3. Los grados de 3° a 5° comenzarán a despedirse a las 3:15.

• Visitantes – todos los visitantes deben presentarse primero en la oficina principal. A cada visitante se le dará un pase de visitante para indicar que tiene aprobación para estar en el edificio escolar.
• Voluntarios – Cualquier visitante que sea voluntario en ICES deberá completar una verificación de antecedentes.
• Botellas de agua – es extremadamente importante que su hijo traiga una botella de agua a la escuela DIARIAMENTE. Tenemos múltiples estaciones de llenado de agua embotellada en el sitio para rellenar sus botellas.

Reminder, EVERY Wednesday ICES will have early dismissal for students (please see adjusted dismissal times below):

• Pre-K through 2nd grades will be dismissed at 2:00pm
• 3rd through 5th grades will be dismissed starting at 2:15pm

• First infraction will be a verbal warning to the student and parent.
• Second infraction will be a 1-week suspension from the program.
• Third infraction will result in the removal from the aftercare program.

Actualmente, nuestra atención posterior a la YMCA está completamente llena, pero la YMCA ha creado una lista de espera. Para ingresar a esa lista, las familias deberán comunicarse con la YMCA al 317-266-9622. Me gustaría recordarles a las familias algunos cambios que se han hecho a nuestro programa después de la escuela este año. Implementaremos una regla de tres strikes para nuestras familias que asisten al programa de cuidado posterior de YMCA. La administración trabajará en estrecha colaboración con la YMCA para garantizar que todos los estudiantes y sus familias cumplan con las expectativas establecidas por el programa de cuidado posterior. Este año, la asistencia y el comportamiento de los estudiantes serán monitoreados de cerca durante el programa, así como también cuando se recoja a nuestros estudiantes por la noche. A aquellos estudiantes y familias que no se adhieran a estos cambios se les darán tres oportunidades antes de que sean retirados del programa de cuidados posteriores… la YMCA se referiría a la lista de espera para llenar la vacante.

• La primera infracción será una advertencia verbal al estudiante y al padre..
• La segunda infracción será una suspensión de 1 semana del programa..
• La tercera infracción resultará en la eliminación del programa de cuidado posterior..
