Mr. Teddy Rogers, Director of Athletics for the Irvington Community Schools has announced his resignation from the corporation effective Friday, January 27, 2023. In preparation for a process to select his successor, Mr. John Hodges, Business Education Teacher at Irvington Preparatory Academy has been chosen to serve as Interim Athletics Director, effective Monday, January 30, 2023.

Mr. Hodges has over 33 years of experience with secondary and post-secondary athletics in Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina serving as both an assistant and head coach in a variety of sports and as an Athletic Director at River Mill Charter Academy in Graham, North Carolina and at Low Country Academy in Charleston, South Carolina.

Mr. Hodges will work with Mr. Rogers over the next two weeks in a transition capacity, and will work with building and corporate administration to stabilize matters to facilitate smooth and successful operations as we transition from winter sports into spring sports. The full-time Athletic Director position will be revised and posted in the very near future, and the corporation will accept applications from internal and external candidates, with screening, interviews, vetting, and an eventual selection of a candidate tentatively scheduled by April 1, 2023.

Please join me in thanking Mr. Rogers on his years of service to our school corporation and the Irvington community, and join me in welcoming Mr. Hodges to his new role within the corporation.
